Role: Senior QA Engineer – 5G Charging & API Validation

Role Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager to plan and manage technical projects from initiation through delivery. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, risks, milestones, and stakeholders, while using Agile methodologies, AI-enabled tools, and automation to improve project delivery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Wireless Rating & Charging Validation

• Perform testing and troubleshooting of wireless charging systems involving Radius, N40, and related charging interfaces.
• Validate rating and charging call flows for online and offline charging.
• Work with CHF, OCS, and CDR generation validation.
• Analyze Wireshark traces during test case execution.

Wireless Subscriber Provisioning

• Provision subscribers in HLR, HSS, and UDM using SOAP and REST APIs.
• Use tools such as Postman to validate provisioning workflows.
• Perform end-to-end validation across subscriber management systems.

Device Configuration & Attach Testing

• Test device configuration and attach processes.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues related to device connectivity and network attachment.
• Analyze QXDM captures and logs to identify underlying network issues.

Core Network Trace Analysis

• Analyze packet captures involving core network nodes such as SMF and PCF.
• Use Wireshark and Netscout probes for packet and network trace analysis.
• Troubleshoot network-layer and integration issues.

API & Backend Testing

• Design, develop, and execute REST and SOAP API test cases using Postman, Swagger, and ReadyAPI.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Validate JSON and XML payloads, schemas, and service contracts.
• Perform contract testing for microservices.
• Test Kafka message queues, including message payloads, event ordering, and delivery.

Test Automation & CI/CD

• Build and maintain API automation frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and manage mock services to simulate network components for isolated testing.
• Automate test cases using AI-assisted and agentic AI frameworks.

Database & Defect Management

• Perform SQL-based database validation to verify data integrity across provisioning and charging systems.
• Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including discovery, documentation, triage, retesting, and closure.
• Participate in test planning, peer reviews, and continuous QA process improvement.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Core Network, BSS, Charging, and Vendor teams to investigate end-to-end integration issues.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience with strong focus on API and backend system testing in telecom or wireless environments.
• Minimum 1 year of AI experience.
• Minimum 5 years of test automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, and ReadyAPI for REST and SOAP testing.
• Strong understanding of JSON and XML structures, schema validation, and payload validation.
• Experience testing subscriber provisioning flows in 5G or LTE wireless networks.
• Knowledge of 5G charging, including 3GPP standards, CHF, SMF, PCF, N7, N28, N40, and Radius.
• Practical experience with Wireshark for packet capture and trace analysis.
• Experience with QXDM log analysis for wireless device and network troubleshooting.
• Experience testing Kafka or equivalent message queue systems.
• Proficiency in SQL for database querying and data validation.
• Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins or similar CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and testing strategies, including contract, integration, and component testing.
• Experience designing and using mock/stub services for API testing.
• Good understanding of the defect lifecycle and experience with JIRA or similar tools.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with end-to-end 5G charging flow testing, including CDR generation and validation.
• Knowledge of 3GPP Diameter or HTTP/2-based charging interfaces.
• Scripting skills in Python or JavaScript for test automation.
• Exposure to cloud-native environments such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience with containerized microservices testing.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
